1Brew 'n' Chat

At Recovery Runners, they recognise the importance of both physical activity and social connection. That's why they prioritise post-run sessions for members to gather, chat, and enjoy a brew together. It's in these moments that friendships are nurtured, stories are shared, and support is given. Join them for a run, a chat, and a brew, and be part of a community that values both fitness and camaraderie.

Child Care

Childcare can be a huge barrier to women's participation in sport, we offer free childcare to those mums who otherwise would be excluded from the sport. "I'm a single Mum and the childcare makes all the difference to me, we only have a limited amount of places but we try our best to accommodate everyone" Abbi - Womens Captain

Kit Donation

Zero waste Leeds- remove barriers - For the sharing of sport kit and equipment, we wanted it to be shared for free and be easily available in the communities where it was most needed. That means trying to link people up so that surplus kit could be identified and moved to other locations. There are other examples where people have to apply for kit and equipment and, when it’s passed on, it’s monitored. That’s a great way to do it and it makes it easier to collate social impact. However, the application and monitoring process has a cost, we had no funding to do that and we perceived it to be a barrier to the accessibility of kit. Our method is not perfect but it’s a pragmatic approach to sharing kit. Language is also very important. The biggest impact of our work is tackling poverty and social inequalities but we frame that in a different way - Together for Sport is about sharing, generosity, mutual support, sustainability. All of that helps to normalise and de-stigmatise the use of second hand kit.

Travel Buddies

Local Parent - "Before the travel buddie system was introduced with SCOT FC we had to decline any away games due to us not having transportation or the fianances to get us all in the correct place with me having more than one child in the team, since this has been introduced my children no longer have to miss out and can continue the journey as a football player without nothing stopping them. Thanks SCOT FC you do try think of everything so the kids don't miss out."

Wayne - "Travel Buddies is one of the many ways SCOT FC has broken down barriers in the local community. Many families found it difficult to get to away fixtures meaning children missed out."
